1. The constant change of oil

It is critical to change the engine oil regularly. You can ignore reading other tips but not this one. Oil helps to lubricate the vital part of the engine. It prevents the engine from overheating and without it, your engine won’t work. If your engine runs on the same oil over a long time, it may permanently fail.

There is no single thumb rule of when to change the oil. However, most experts recommend changing of oil after the vehicle has covered 8,047 kilometers (5,000 miles). This recommendation may vary with the type of engine. Therefore, you need to refer to the manufacturer specifications on when to change your oil. 2. Ensure the cooling system works well

The cooling system consists of the coolant, water pump, a radiator, and thermostat. To avoid overheating of the engine, you need the right amount of coolant to circulate in the engine.

When the temperature of the engine rises, the thermostat will trigger the water pump to pump the fluid from the radiator. It drives the coolant the fluid coolant to the engine and back to the radiator for cooling. Lift the hood, and check the coolant container to check the level of the coolant.

The belts begin running immediately you switch your engine on. Belts have a long lifespan although they wear off with time. In case the belt breaks when the car is in motion, it may completely damage your car engine. Inspect the belt to see any noticeable cracks. A spinning or squeaking belt may indicate a faulty belt. You’ll need to replace or adjust the belt. A properly working belt will ensure your engine operates optimally and over a long period.

7. Follow-up with the warning lights
